Meet Carol Meschter
Carol Meschter, DVM, PhD, DACVP is the CEO and Pathologist for VetPath Consultants, now located in beautiful Round Hill, VA. Formerly, she was the founder and CEO of Comparative Biosciences, Inc. Sunnyvale, CA. CBI was a unique boutique preclinical CRO providing state-of the art GLP and nonGLP toxicology, efficacy, pathology and histopathology services to the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. CBI started with 2 employees in 1996, and rapidly developed to a midsized company with about 50 employees. In 2020, CBI was acquired by GD3 services and Dr. Meschter relocated to VA and is now offering pathology and histology and consulting services to biotechnology and pharma industry.
VetPath Consultants is Dr. Meschter’s consulting pathology practice in which she evaluates GLP and nonGLP toxicology studies as well as research and efficacy studies. She has demonstrated expertise in small molecules, biologics, devices, gene products, proteins, antibodies, vaccines, mRNA, and viral products. Dr. Meschter also provides consultation on clinical pathology interpretation and relevant issues pertaining to clinical pathology findings on studies and correlation with pathology. She also works with clients on FDA issues and INDs.
Carol enjoys a number of activities outside of pathology. She is an active master’s equestrian competitor and her horse, Ala Cowboy, has been nationally ranked in dressage. Carol decided to relocate to Virginia as Loudoun County is the mecca of the competitive horse world and her family is located here as well. She enjoys running her two mini-Australian Shepards, hiking, skiing, SCUBA, and is a member of the Snickersville Foxhounds. Dr Meschter enjoys traveling and this year participated in an expedition to Antarctica and Patagonia. While in Antarctica there was research into the fascinating worlds of Krill, microplastics, penguins, bird influenza, seals and whales. This summer she is expecting to travel to Aachen for the famous horse competition and visit other countries.
Dr. Meschter is looking forward to renewing relationships with her established clients and making new connections with new clients and new companies!
